Original Chocolate Mousse only needed a few steps to make. The specific taste melted rich chocolate as a base ingredient made a perfect desert in many occations. Extremely easy recipe,
Ingredients :
115g semisweet chocolate, cut into small pieces
28g unsalted butter, cut in small pieces
2 whole eggs, separated
1/2 teaspoonful pure vanilla extract
1/8 teaspoonful cream of tartar
3 tablespoonful sugar, divided
120 ml heavy whipping cream
Decorate with : Whipped Cream, Fresh Raspberries, or Shaved Chocolate
Method :
In a steinless steel bowl set over a simmering water. Melt the chocolate and butter
Remove from heat and set aside. Allow to cool for a few minutes.
Then whisk in the two egg yolks. Refrigerate
Whip the two egg whites with the cream of tartar till foamy, with the electric mixer
Gradually add two tablespoonful of sugar and continue to beat till stiff peaks form, yet the whites are still glossy and not dry. Set aside
In another bowl, whip the heavy cream, remaining one tablespooful sugar, and vanilla extract till soft peaks form.
Remove the chocolate mixture from the refrigerator. Stir a couple of spoonful of the beaten egg whites into the chocolate mixture to lighten it. Fold the remaining whites into the chocolate mixture, gently but thoroughly.
Fold in the whipped cream.
Transfer the chocolate mousse into an individual serving dish or glass with spoon.
Cover and refrigerate for a couple of hours.
Decorate with additional whipped cream, fresh raspberries or shaved chocolate. ( You can use one of them or combine the two or three of them )
